Hi,
I need a professional sound card, that has the options to connect 4 microphones and 2 electric guitars. I'll tell you what I exactly need. I want to record my band, I need 4 mic inputs for the drums and to be able to connect 2 guitars. All I can use is analog inputs? or can I use digital inputs? I want really good sound quality, so there is no budget regarding the sound card, nor the mics, nor any of the gear (ofcourse, I don't want to open a studio...). I was currenty looking the M-Audio Delta66/1010 and the E-MU (creative) 1820M. Any other options? can you tell me what do I need to be able to record my band thought a computer? i'm buying a new computer for this... Maybe better off doing this on a macintosh? Thanks alot |

I still think windows will be advantaged over macintosh. Buying a new computer just to record ur band is a big step. You gotta make sure it does the job well and it all works. (make sure u post us the link for ur songs) if u put them on the net. hehe. Anyways the M-Audio 1010 looks like a good card for ur requirments. 2 mic preamps or line inputs is good and you can directly drive up to 7.1 surround with bass management software included. Has digital capabilitys aswell I believe. But research more into the subject matter, make talk to some pros in audio/computer shops.
